Agri Evolve is a socially-driven coffee enterprise founded in 2015 and based in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda. As a Certified B Corporation, it is a “profit-for-purpose” business dedicated to transforming the lives of smallholder coffee farmers.

The company manages the full coffee chain, from sourcing and processing to export, with a strong focus on quality, transparency, and sustainability. Their goal is to shape coffee growing in East Africa in ways that improve life for smallholder farmers, their families, and their communities. Agri Evolve supports over 20,000 smallholder farmers across the Rwenzori region. In 2024, the company exported 4,500 MT of Arabica coffee to 15+ markets, including the USA, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The company holds B Corp, Rainforest Alliance, and Organic certifications, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing.

Environmental Stewardship

Agri Evolve manages a sophisticated and digitally-driven supply chain to ensure transparency and efficiency. Their agri-partner network includes over 300 agents who work on the ground to improve last-mile delivery of services, including training, farm visits, and market access. The company was the first in Uganda to adopt SAP Rural Sourcing Management for full digitalization of all transactions, ensuring traceability and transparency. Their state-of-the-art processing facility in Nyabirongo includes a wet mill, dry mill, grading/sorting line, and quality laboratory.

Services provided to farmers include training in Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), financial literacy, and climate-smart agriculture; access to coffee seedlings, organic fertilizer, and tools; guaranteed market access with competitive, transparent pricing and timely payments; financial services including loans and savings groups; and certification support for Organic and Rainforest Alliance.

We are proud to partner with Agri Evolve, a company that shares our values of quality, transparency, and long-term collaboration. Their commitment to farmer empowerment, environmental stewardship, and community development makes them a trusted partner in bringing Uganda’s best coffee to the global market.

Some of their Impact

An independent impact survey conducted by 60 Decibels in 2025 gives a farmer-centric picture of Agri Evolve’s performance. The company organizes its work around an Agriculture, Community, Environment (ACE) framework aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Agri Evolve has a Net Promoter Score of 44 among farmers, in the top 40% of relevant benchmarks in East Africa; farmers point to training, competitive prices, and timely payments as what they value most. 63% report meaningful improvements in farming practices, 61% report a significant increase in production, 63% report higher earnings, and 56% report quality-of-life gains such as paying school fees and saving more.

Between 2022 and 2024, farmer incomes rose 119%, with 76% of that increase attributed directly to Agri Evolve’s own interventions – quality premiums, better productivity, and market access – separate from swings in the global market price. The company estimates it has added about $5 million to the local economy through infrastructure investment, job creation, and higher farmgate prices. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
