Bantu Blossom Rwenzori is grown at elevations between 1,500 and 2,000 meters in the Rwenzori region. This lot is produced by 200 smallholder farmers cultivating SL14 and SL28 varieties. Bantu Blossom Rwenzori’s careful processing and dedication to quality result in a rich and balanced cup, showcasing the best of Ugandan coffee.
After being selectively picked when fully ripe, the cherries are delivered to local collection centers, where Agri Evolve coordinates their transport to Nyabirongo processing facility. The coffee is floated to remove defects, then dried under the sun for several weeks on raised racks, with constant turning to ensure even fermentation and drying. Once the pods reach the optimal moisture level, they are hulled, graded, and color-sorted before being packed into jute bags for export.
The Rwenzori region provides a fertile environment for coffee farming, characterized by rich volcanic soil and high altitudes. AgriEvolve plays a crucial role in aggregating coffee from farmers and ensuring quality control at every stage. Coffee is batched according to altitude and location, maintaining traceability.
