Bracamoros from Palanda, Ecuador

Our Bracamoros Special from Palanda, Zamora-Chinchipe, Ecuador is brought to you by coffee producers Luis Alvarez, Keimer Troya, and Harvey Merino. They are part of the APECAP Association and their farms sitting at an elevation of ~1,600 m.a.s.l, and with an average size of 3.5 Ha, are part of the “Clean Production Territories” of Palanda.

This lot is comprised of Typica Mejorado, but they also grow the F1 Hybrid. Their harvest period is between August and September and they all follow a very similar fermentation and drying process: de-pulped and then dry fermented for 24 hours, followed by 10-12 days of drying, depending on the weather.

The Best from Bracamoros…

Zamora-Chinchipe, in Ecuador, is regarded as one of the top coffee-growing regions in the country, and their regional “Cooperative”, Fapecafes, is known to promote coffee-growing amongst the youth. That is how “Bracamoros Coffee Competition” came to be: a regional specialty coffee contest, from young producers between 25 and 35 years old.

And that is how we met these excellent and dedicated producers, who all placed high in last year’s contest.

We are very excited to offer this renowned lot from Zamora-Chinchipe, and look forward to future harvests from region!
