Even the best producers will not produce 100% of their harvest as micro-lots, we all know this. As such, it’s important for us to find ways to support our producers across all ranges of qualities: this SHG Special is a blend comprised of coffees from Luis Alberto’s farms, as well as five other producers from the following regions: Dipilto, Jinotega, and Matagalpa, in Nicaragua, with farms ranging from 1,000 – 1,500 m.a.s.l.

Finca Lote 3 is located in Santa Maria, Huila, Colombia, and is run by Miller Sarmiento. His farm sits at an elevation of approximately 1,952 m.a.s.l. and consists of 8 hectares of land Of those 8 hectares, 4 are planted in coffee, with about 14,000 trees. Within these trees, Miller grows a mix of Red Caturra, Orange Caturra, Typica, and Castillo; this lot is a mix of Red and Orange Caturra

Finca Las Cumbres is located in Limay, Estelí, Nicaragua, and is run by Walter Jose Picada Perez. The farm sits at an elevation of 1,200 m.a.sl on average and consists of approximately 350 manzanas in total, where he grows mostly Caturra, and in less quantity Catimore and Yellow Bourbon.

Hamasho Station is located in the Hamasho Kebele or Village and is part of the Bensa area, in Sidama, Ethiopia.

Named after a palm tree found in Colombia, Finca El Corozal is located in Garzón, Huila, Colombia, owned by 7 brothers and has Delfin Carvajal as the leader and face of the family.

Finca Cataluña is located in Pitalito, Huila, Colombia and is managed by Flor Marina Betancourt and her family. The farm is situated at an altitude of 1,700 m.a.s.l. and consists of 6.5 hectares with approximately 13,000 Pink Bourbon trees, 6,000 Cenicafé1 trees and 1,500 Castillo trees.

Finca Los Jazmines is located in Palestina, Huila, Colombia and run by Jose Lizardo Alba. The farm sits at an elevation of approximately 1,500 m.a.s.l. and consists of 10 hectares in total. Of those 10 hectares, 7 are planted in coffee, with about 27,000 trees.

In Spanish, Las Perlitas means “Little Pearls” and throughout the harvest, it’s quite common that small-holders in Colombia produce lots that aren’t large enough to be exported on their own. However, the quality is often just as good (or better) than samples received from larger lots.

Finca Costa Rica is located in Santa María, Huila, Colombia and is owned and run by Faver Ninco and his family. The farm sits at an elevation of 2,005 m.a.s.l. and consists of 10 hectares with approximately 19,900 coffee trees in total, The 19,900 trees are the following varieties: 5,000 Caturra, 8,000 Pink Bourbon, 2,200 Geisha, 3,000 Papayo and 1,700 Java.
