Ethiopia Origin Trip
This year, The Coffee Quest will host an origin trip to visit our partner, Dominion Trading, in Ethiopia. By the end of Februari most washingstations will have finalized their production, and coffee is getting milled and prepared for export. Hosted by Catalyst Coffee Consultants we will visit washingstations like, Reko Koba and Semalo Pride. We will go to farms and meet the farmers, visit dry mills to experience the post-harvest process and we will do a whole lot of cupping in preparation of the 2018 season.
We will travel the country in Land Cruisers together with a group of American Coffee people, and will visit regions like Sidama and Yirgacheffe. During this trip you can experience the work The Coffee Quest and Dominion do in Ethiopia with the local people, on coffee quality, on social impact and on roaster involvement.
For this trip you are required to organize your own arrival to Addis Ababa airport. From there on you will be fully hosted by The Coffee Quest & Catalyst. Bring your own pocket money for souvenirs, drinks and small spendings. Don’t forget to check the checklist “10 things you need to pack” by The Perfect Daily Grind.
