Finca El Edén, from Garzón, Huila

Finca El Edén is located in Garzón, Huila, Colombia, and is managed by Hugo Gonzalez. The farm spans 3 hectares at 1,850 m.a.s.l., with approximately 9,000 coffee trees of Chiroso, Java, Colombia, Caturra, and Castillo.

After depulping, the coffee is fermented for 36–42 hours in a mostly dry fermentation with some water present, then washed and dried on raised African beds in a parabolic dryer for 20–30 days, depending on weather.

Planting New Varieties, Building Community

Hugo Gonzalez is not only a dedicated producer but also the President of GAFRUCOL, a local grower association in Garzón. He began working with The Coffee Quest in 2021 through the guidance of Alberto, our Head of Quality in Huila.

Together, they have focused on improving cup quality and experimenting with new varieties. Inspired by this collaboration, Hugo started planting Chiroso and Java, resulting in this distinct microlot.

We look forward to continuing our work with Hugo and expanding our partnership with Finca El Eden in the coming seasons.
