Finca El Lote is located in Vereda El Cedral, Santa María, Huila, Colombia, and is managed by Jhon Edinson Suns, a second-generation coffee producer. The farm spans 3.5 hectares at an impressive 2,050 m.a.s.l., where Jhon cultivates Typica, Caturra, Castillo, and Bourbon Rosado varieties across approximately 11,000 trees.
Jhon begins his process with selective harvesting of ripe cherries. The next morning, the cherries are depulped and fermented in their own mucilage for 60 hours. After washing, the coffee is dried for about 15 days in marquesina, depending on the weather.
Jhon Edinson Suns grew up immersed in coffee, learning the craft from his parents. His farm, Finca El Lote, is actually owned by his mother, but he has been administrating it for the past decade.
We began working with Jhon and Finca El Lote in 2024, and we are excited to keep building this relationship!
