Finca La Angelita is located in Espíndola, Loja, Ecuador, and is managed by Livio Reyes Jiménez, a 45-year-old coffee producer that comes from a 100-year family tradition of coffee growing. The farm spans 4.5 hectares at 1,800 m.a.s.l., where Livio grows 3,500 Sidra trees, alongside 12,000 trees of Typica, Red Bourbon, and Yellow Bourbon.
This exquisite Sidra lot starts with the harvest of 100% ripe cherries, hand-selected and depulped in the afternoon. The parchment is then fermented in tanks for 48 hours, washed, and laid to dry in marquesinas for 15 days, depending on the weather.
Livio Reyes grew up helping his father on the farm, part of a lineage that stretches back to his great-grandparents. As a young man, he spent five years in Quito seeking better opportunities, but the city offered little and he returned determined to build a life around coffee.
For most of his career, Livio sold to local buyers at low prices, but in 2022 he pivoted to specialty and planted a few Sidra trees.
We connected with Livio in 2025, and we are stoked to keep bringing his Sidra lots, as well as building this relationship!
