Finca Los Guaicos, from Urrao, Antioquia

Finca Los Guaicos is located in Vereda San Carlos, Urrao, Antioquia, Colombia, and is managed by Arley Arboleda, a 36-year-old second-generation coffee producer. The farm spans 2 hectares at 2,100 m.a.s.l., where Jorge cultivates exclusively the Chiroso variety.

Jorge’s process begins with selective harvesting, followed by depulping in the afternoon. The coffee then ferments for 80 to 90 hours in stainless steel tanks before being washed and dried in a marquesina for 15 to 20 days, depending on the weather.

A Young Grower’s Bet on Chiroso

Arley Arboleda started working in coffee as a teenager, learning the craft from his father on family farms and neighbors in the same vereda. In 2022, he purchased his own land, Finca Los Guaicos, and made a deliberate choice to plant only Chiroso.

His family helps with farm tasks, supporting his goal to continue expanding Chiroso across his two hectares.

We began working with Jorge and Finca Los Guaicos in 2023, and we are excited to keep bringing their coffees!
