Finca Lote B is located in Santa María, Huila, Colombia, and is managed by Óscar Iván Esguerra, a 40-year-old coffee producer. The farm spans 2 hectares of land at 1,800 m.a.s.l., where Óscar cultivates Castillo, Pink Bourbon, and Caturra varieties, across approximately 9,000 coffee trees.
Óscar begins his process with a 24-hour cherry fermentation, followed by depulping and an additional 60-hour fermentation. The parchment is then washed once and spread in a marquesina (covered structure) for 10-12 days depending on the weather, with daily turning to ensure even drying.
Óscar Iván Esguerra followed his parents into coffee over twenty years ago, growing up surrounded by the rhythm of harvest and processing. His aspiration is to make Finca Lote B more productive and well-managed with each passing year, as he believes that organization leads to excellence.
We began working with Óscar and Finca Lote B in 2025, and we are excited for future harvests!
