Finca Terrazas sits high in the mountains of La Libertad, Huehuetenango, one of Guatemala’s most renowned coffee regions. The farm is managed by Nayo Ovalle, a third-generation coffee producer who grew up surrounded by the traditions and challenges of coffee cultivation.
In 2016, Nayo purchased the farm with a clear vision: to focus on specialty single varieties like Caturra and Bourbon, and to elevate them through careful processing and agronomic expertise. His background as an agronomist has been key in shaping his approach, balancing innovation with respect for the land and its heritage.
Nayo produces both washed and natural coffees, allowing the farm to highlight different expressions of its terroir. The Washed process of this lot emphasizes clarity and vibrancy, often showing floral notes, citrus brightness, and a clean finish. After washing this coffee is dried on the patio for 14 days.Â
Finca Terrazas represents the new generation of Guatemalan coffee producers, combining family tradition with technical expertise. Nayo’s commitment to quality and innovation makes each harvest a reflection of both his heritage and his forward-looking vision for specialty coffee.
We’ve been working with Vides58 since 2023, and we believe their quality in the area is unmatched!
