Kasese Gold Rwenzori is produced in the Nyabirongo region at elevations between 1,500 and 1,800 meters. Around 230 farmers contribute to this lot, growing SL14 and SL28 varieties. Kasese Gold Rwenzori benefits from the region’s rich soil and ideal climate, with bi-annual rainy seasons followed by extended sunshine. Agri Evolve, our export partner, oversees the processing and sources cherries from smallholder farmers who harvest 5-10 kg daily.
Unlike other lots, Kasese Gold Rwenzori is delivered as dry parchment rather than fresh cherries. After quality analysis and cupping at Nyabirongo, the parchment undergoes grading, cleaning, and final sorting before being packed into 60kg jute bags for export. The dry parchment is carefully assessed to ensure it meets the required standards before processing. Coffee is stored in a dedicated warehouse to maintain quality before export. The focus on proper grading and sorting ensures that Kasese Gold Rwenzori offers a consistently high-quality cup with a rich and refined profile.
