Finca Santa Marta, from Urrao, Antioquia

Finca Santa Marta is located in Vereda Pavón, Urrao, Antioquia, Colombia, and is managed by José Londoño, a 51‑year‑old first-generation producer. The farm spans 2 hectares at 1,850 m.a.s.l., where José cultivates Chiroso exclusively across 2,700 trees in production, with an additional 1,800 trees in development.

José’s process begins with selective harvesting of ripe cherries, which he depulps the following day. The coffee is then fermented in tile tanks with water for three days before being washed and dried in a marquesina for 8 to 12 days, depending on the weather.

From Avocados to Chirosos

José Londoño spent years working on an avocado farm before deciding to pursue coffee on his own. He saved carefully and purchased Finca Santa Marta, a small property where he now lives and manages every aspect of production alone. Despite being relatively new to coffee (just four years since his leap of faith) he has dedicated himself fully to quality, focusing on Chiroso, the variety that has put Urrao on the specialty coffee map.

We began working with José and Finca Santa Marta in 2026, and we are excited to keep building this relationship.
