Belancan Yeast Honey, from Kintamani, Bali
The Belancan Yeast Honey lot comes from Belancan Village, Kintamani, Bali, Indonesia, and is produced by Kanggo
What makes this lot unique is its exclusive use of screen size 14 beans, offering uniformity in size and quality. This natural lot features cherries from 3 different municipalities, Gaitania, La Plata, and Ciudad de Bolívar, processed at La Roca and Tres Rayas’ drying facilities. After arrival, cherries are sorted, floated, and dried on raised beds for up to 3 weeks with constant humidity monitoring.
Grown at altitudes between 1,600 and 2,100 m.a.s.l., this lot includes popular varieties like Caturra, Typica, Castillo, Colombia, and Bourbon. Recently, exotic varieties such as Geisha and Wush Wush have also emerged in this region.
With its ideal weather, high altitudes, and fertile soil, Tolima stands out as a top coffee-growing region. Since 2018, we’ve partnered with ASOPEP, La Roca Estate, and Tres Rayas, and this lot showcases our enduring collaboration.
Led by award-winning coffee producer Jorge Elías Rojas, ASOPEP and La Roca Estate are the biggest and most relevant coffee association in Tolima… and even Colombia!
Tres Rayas Coffee, on the other hand, is a rising association, recently certified Organic, Fairtrade, Rainforest and UTZ. They are also trying to make a difference by ensuring that organic waste from coffee processing is used to make compost and distributed to growers.
We started working with both La Roca Estate and Tres Rayas Coffee since 2021, and we know this relationship will be one for the books!
